MEET DAWN | BUSINESS OWNER

It has been my dream since I was 9 yrs old to own a bakery. Not just any bakery, but one that served wholesome baked goods. Nothing from a pre-mix. However, raising my brother and sister after my mother’s passing, I went right into parenthood where I raised my son and 7 others that my husband and I adopted.

After all the kids were off and on their own, empty nest syndrome kicked in. I had helped support my children by working in restaurant management for over 30 years and wanted out. I tried other careers such as managing a hair salon for quite a time. I even went back to school for medical billing, but I couldn’t find my niche. Then one day I was talking to my brother about his “dream” of what he always wanted to do and I said to him, “A dream isn’t something that isn’t attainable. It’s simply an idea that you never put any effort into executing.” And that’s when the light bulb went off in my head. This is the time to pursue your dream.

With zero resources, equipment, ect. I set out to conquer my dream. 51 days later I unlocked the doors at 236 W. Main st. Kutztown, Pa. 19530. The rest is history!
